What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide your thymus produces naturally, and it is one of the few compounds in this library with a real regulatory footprint. Sold as the synthetic drug Zadaxin (thymalfasin), it is approved in dozens of countries, including China, mainly for chronic hepatitis B and to strengthen vaccine responses. It is not FDA-approved in the US. So this is a genuine, well-characterized single peptide with an approved product behind it, just not domestically.
How Thymosin Alpha-1 works
It works by tuning the immune system rather than attacking a pathogen directly. Thymosin alpha-1 acts on toll-like receptors (notably TLR9) and helps T cells mature and function, which sharpens the body's pathogen-specific response. At the same time it can temper excess inflammation, so the effect is more restoring balance than simply revving things up. That dual character is why it has been explored both in infections, where you want a stronger response, and in inflammatory or immunosuppressed states, where you want a smarter one.
