Sermorelin Reconstitution

How to mix Sermorelin and read the exact units to draw. Enter your vial size and bacteriostatic water below for the concentration and dose on a U-100 insulin syringe.

How to reconstitute Sermorelin

  1. Swab the rubber stopper of the Sermorelin vial and the 0.9% sodium chloride injection vial with an alcohol wipe.
  2. Draw 2 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride injection into a syringe.
  3. Inject it slowly down the inside wall of the Sermorelin vial, not directly onto the powder.
  4. Swirl gently until the powder fully dissolves. Do not shake. Shaking can damage the peptide.
  5. Keep unreconstituted vials refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees C.

Sermorelin concentration by water volume

Sermorelin is commonly supplied in 0.5 mg vials. The concentration depends only on how much bacteriostatic water you add. More water lowers the concentration and makes small doses easier to measure.

Sermorelin units to draw

At 250 mcg/ml (a 0.5 mg vial in 2 ml of bacteriostatic water), here is the draw for doses across the range Sermorelin is typically used at. Change any number in the calculator above for your own vial.

Sermorelin dosing

In anti-aging and wellness clinics, sermorelin is commonly prescribed at roughly 200 to 300 mcg by subcutaneous injection at night, timed to match the body's natural overnight GH pulse. This is off-label prescribing through compounding pharmacies rather than an FDA-approved regimen, so specifics vary by provider. Enter your own vial size, water volume, and target dose in the calculator above to convert any Sermorelin protocol into exact insulin-syringe units. For the full profile, see the Sermorelin compound page.

Storing reconstituted Sermorelin

Keep unreconstituted vials refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees C. The former label specified 2 ml of Sodium Chloride Injection USP supplied in the kit, not bacteriostatic water, giving a solution at pH 5.0 to 5.5. Discard if cloudy or if particulates appear. The original label did not publish an extended in-use window.

The labelled dose was 0.2 to 0.3 mcg/kg once daily at bedtime, roughly 15 to 20 mcg for a 70 kg adult. Compounding pharmacies today market 200 to 500 mcg per dose, more than ten times the labelled range, with no label support. Geref was withdrawn from the US market in 2008, so no current FDA label governs sermorelin and vial size, diluent, and concentration vary by pharmacy.

The dose range above comes from approved prescribing information for Sermorelin.

Sermorelin reconstitution FAQ

How do you reconstitute Sermorelin?

Draw 2 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride injection into a syringe, inject it slowly down the inside wall of the Sermorelin vial, and swirl gently until the powder dissolves. Do not shake. The concentration is the vial size in mg times 1,000, divided by the millilitres you added.

How much 0.9% sodium chloride injection do I add to Sermorelin?

2 ml for a 0.5 mg vial gives 250 mcg/ml. More liquid makes small doses easier to measure accurately. The calculator shows the concentration for any volume you choose.

How many units of Sermorelin do I draw?

Units to draw equals your dose in mcg divided by the concentration in mcg/ml, times 100 on a U-100 insulin syringe. At 250 mcg/ml, a 20 mcg dose is 8 units.

How do you store reconstituted Sermorelin?

Keep unreconstituted vials refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees C. The former label specified 2 ml of Sodium Chloride Injection USP supplied in the kit, not bacteriostatic water, giving a solution at pH 5.0 to 5.5. Discard if cloudy or if particulates appear. The original label did not publish an extended in-use window.
