How to reconstitute ARA-290

  1. Swab the rubber stopper of the ARA-290 vial and the bacteriostatic water vial with an alcohol wipe.
  2. Draw 1 ml of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
  3. Inject it slowly down the inside wall of the ARA-290 vial, not directly onto the powder.
  4. Swirl gently until the powder fully dissolves. Do not shake. Shaking can damage the peptide.
  5. Keep the lyophilised powder at 2 to 8 degrees C, or -20 degrees C for long-term storage.

Keep the lyophilised powder at 2 to 8 degrees C, or -20 degrees C for long-term storage. Once mixed with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate at 2 to 8 degrees C and use within about 28 to 30 days on preservative grounds. Protect from light and do not freeze the reconstituted solution.

In those trials cibinetide was supplied by the sponsor as a prepared sterile solution, not as a vial the patient reconstituted, so the dose transfers but the handling is not manufacturer-validated. ARA-290 is investigational and not approved anywhere.
